The Toyota U.S. Grand Prix will return to Breckenridge Ski Resort from 10–13 December, bringing elite freeski and snowboard slopestyle competition back to the Colorado resort after a 12-year hiatus.
The event will open the 2026–27 domestic FIS freeski and snowboard World Cup season and begin the Grand Prix’s 30th-anniversary winter. It is one of 13 World Cup events scheduled to take place in the United States during the season.
“Twelve years is a long time to be away, and we are proud to kick off the domestic freeski and snowboard World Cup season in Breckenridge,” said U.S. Ski & Snowboard President and CEO Sophie Goldschmidt. “This is one of 13 World Cup events we have in the U.S. this winter and hosting at a resort with this much history sets the tone for the season.”
“The return of the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix is a proud moment for Breck,” said Jon Copeland, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Breckenridge Ski Resort. “This event reflects the progressive spirit and competitive energy that has long been part of The Kingdom’s history and we’re excited to bring it to life this winter.”
Breckenridge became the first major Colorado resort to allow snowboarding in 1984 and has since developed terrain parks used by leading U.S. athletes. Course designer Charles Beckinsale will lead the slopestyle build for the December competition.
Freeski slopestyle qualification starts on Thursday 10 December, followed by snowboard qualification on Friday 11 December. The freeski finals take place on Saturday 12 December, with the snowboard finals completing the programme on Sunday 13 December. Spectators will be welcome.
The 2026–27 FIS freeski and snowboard World Cup season runs from late November to April 2027. Further domestic Grand Prix stops are scheduled for Copper Mountain from 17–20 December and Aspen from 25–28 February.
