Freeride World Tour returns to Snowbird for 2027 Finals

Snowbird Resort will host the 2027 Freeride World Tour Finals, bringing the tour back to Utah for the first time since 2014.

The YETI Snowbird Pro presented by Stifel is scheduled for 16–22 March 2027. The competition will take place on Mount Baldy, where skiers and snowboarders will select their own lines through steep, natural terrain.

A return to Snowbird

Snowbird began hosting freeride competitions in 1998 and continues to stage International Free Skiers Association events, including competitions that form part of the Freeride World Tour qualifying pathway.

The resort’s athlete team includes Freeride World Tour competitors Ross Tester and Hannah Baldwin in skiing, and Holden Samuels in snowboarding.

Freeride World Tour CEO and founder Nicolas Hale-Woods said Snowbird’s terrain, community and event experience made it a key destination for the sport. He added that working with U.S. Ski & Snowboard would strengthen freeride’s development in the United States through additional marketing and media reach.

Competition and spectator plans

Organisers say the base of Baldy will offer spectators views of the action, with live music, DJs and other events planned around the competition.

Snowbird President and General Manager Dave Fields welcomed the return, highlighting the resort’s history of supporting freeride competition and athlete development.

U.S. Ski & Snowboard will co-present the Finals, following the organisation’s addition of freeride skiing and snowboarding as official disciplines and the formation of its inaugural 2026–27 Stifel U.S. Freeride Team.

Further details of the competition schedule, athlete field and spectator arrangements will be announced closer to the event.
