Wavelength unveils Sunday in the Mountains as new weekly winter sports show

Wavelength and Extreme International have announced Sunday in the Mountains, a new weekly winter sports and mountain lifestyle programme planned to launch in January 2027.

The multi-platform series is designed to combine international skiing and snowboarding competitions with Alpine destinations, mountain adventure, athlete interviews and behind-the-scenes storytelling. A weekly 45-minute episode is planned for YouTube every Sunday, alongside a UK television broadcast, with the broadcaster still to be announced.

The first season is provisionally scheduled to begin in Adelboden, Switzerland, on 10 January 2027, with planned coverage of destinations including Cortina, Kitzbühel, Schladming and Crans-Montana.

Wavelength says it has secured the rights to use Pop Looks Bach, the theme music associated with the BBC’s Ski Sunday. The new show follows the broadcaster’s decision to discontinue that programme.

Alistair Gosling, founder and CEO of Wavelength, said: “The reaction to Ski Sunday’s cancellation shows just how much the programme means to people. We want to build on that passion, inspire the next generation of winter sports fans and support the growth of the snowsports industry.”

Daily short-form videos across social platforms are intended to build towards the weekly programme. Discussions with prospective sponsors, partners and presenters are ongoing.
