Atomic Announces Leadership Transition as Wolfgang Mayrhofer Retires
Atomic has announced a leadership transition effective at the beginning of 2027. Wolfgang Mayrhofer will retire as President at the end of 2026 after more than four decades with the ski brand.
Michael Absmaier, currently CFO and VP Business Development, will become President on 1 January 2027. Anssi Lampinen will take over as CFO on the same date.
Mayrhofer has helped develop Atomic’s position across skis, boots, bindings, helmets and goggles. According to the company, its business has more than doubled over the past decade under his leadership.
Absmaier brings more than 20 years’ experience at Amer Sports, including senior positions in its winter sports businesses and a period as acting CEO of Armada.
Mayrhofer will continue to advise Amer Sports after the transition, while Atomic says its remaining leadership team is unchanged.
