Aspen Snowmass receives up to 13 inches of snow overnight

Winter showed up in late October with a series of cold storms dropping more than two feet of snow at higher elevations over the last several days.

In the last 24 hours, Aspen Snowmass has seen up to “13 on some of their mountains, marking the ramp up to the winter ski season. Early season trail work is underway including track packing and boot backing. Snowmaking will commence on November 1 with Aspen Mountain and Snowmass scheduled to open Thanksgiving Day, 24 November.  

With all of the preseason snowfall, the conditions are promising for the coming winter.  

Totals within the last 24 hours include:  

Snowmass: “13 new, “22 total 

Highlands: “13 new, “22 total 

Aspen Mountain: “10 new, “15 total 

Buttermilk: “8 new, “12 total 

With early season conditions, please be aware when uphilling and use appropriate safety measures. Uphilling straps are not required until 1 November.
