Summer cow fight 2023: The queen of the glaciers will be crowned in Saas-Fee on August 6
Fourteen years after the last summer cow fight, Saas-Fee is preparing to host the summer cow fight on Sunday, August 6, 2023 in the Wolfsgrube natural arena, where the “Queen of the Glaciers” is to be crowned in front of 3,000 spectators.
A great spectacle is offered to fans of cow fighting in the glacier village. Fourteen years after the last summer cow fight, Saas-Fee is looking forward to holding the summer cow fight with around 60 cows in the Wolfsgrube natural arena. The celebrations kick off on Saturday with music and entertainment in Saas-Fee’s village square, before moving on to the fights on Sunday from 10am and the climax of the weekend honoring the Queen of the Glaciers . The proceeds from the event will go towards the renewal and renovation of the “Wolfsgrüebe – Grundbiel” bisse in Saas-Fee.
“It is an honour for the municipality of Saas-Fee and the entire Saas Valley to be able to host this important event. The support of the sponsors, the population and the local partners was exemplary right from the start. We are really looking forward to the stabbing festival,” said Stefan Zurbriggen, President of the Organizing Committee and Mayor of Saas-Fee.
