A successful winter paves the way for a summer full of innovations

After a snowy and positive winter, the Saas-Fee/Saastal holiday region is starting a promising summer season with numerous innovations.
With an increase of 1.46% in overnight stays and numerous innovative projects, the region confirms its position as an exciting high-alpine destination.
Successful winter
Last winter was marked by heavy snowfall and road closures lasting several days, such as at Easter. Despite these challenges, the Saas Valley recorded an increase in overnight stays of 1.46% in winter 2023/2024 compared to the previous year. Particularly noteworthy is the introduction of a new e-bus concept for optimal access to the Saas Valley by public transport. In addition, the Saas Museum was extensively renovated and modernized, giving visitors an even deeper and interactive insight into the regional culture and history.
A summer full of innovations
This summer brings with it a wealth of innovations that will make the guest experience in the destination exciting and new. From June 8th, the ultra-modern Hannigbahn will be in operation, with a freshly renovated mountain restaurant and an adventure-packed playground. On June 29th, the new Metro Alpin cars will be inaugurated, taking guests even more comfortably up the Mittelallalin to the highest revolving restaurant in the world. Another new feature is the Alpine Hut Hike , a picturesque and adventure-packed route that leads from Saas-Fee through the Zwischbergental to Domodossola. This multi-day hike, which was realized in collaboration with Brig Simplon Tourism, can now be conveniently booked online. The summer will be culturally enriched by the third SaasFeestival from July 6th to August 9th. For the first time, there will be additional sessions with three additional concerts, which will take place in various mountain restaurants in the Saas Valley. These sessions serve as a platform for young Swiss talent. Last but not least, the offer for mountain bikers is being expanded: the opening of the 25-kilometer-long, homologated bike trail between Kreuzboden and Stalden and the further expansion of the bike offer with the construction of a new trail between Weissmieshütte and Kreuzboden round off the high alpine experience.
