The WÜRTH MODYF ISMF World Cup, which was to be held in Morgins, Switzerland, has been postponed.
A statement from the organisers said: “It is with much regret that we are informing of the postponement of the World Cup – Région Dents du Midi in Morgins, scheduled on January 11-14, 2023. The high temperatures in the region and the lack of snow have made it impossible to deliver the races, with not enough snow either on the lower or the higher parts of the resort.”
The LOC and the ISMF have tried to work out different solutions for staging the event in the agreed date, but the weather conditions have not improved and the weather forecast does not show any snow or low temperatures in the next few days.
The statement continued: “The ISMF sincerely apologises for the inconveniences of this situation and wants to thank the LOC for its efforts.”
The ISMF and the LOC have agreed to re-schedule the Morgins World Cup to the second week of February, with the complete schedule for the event and agenda to be published in the next days, after consultations with coaches, teams and stakeholders.
The organisers added: “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience of this situation, and want to thank the LOC, athletes, coaches and all stakeholders for their willingness to find an alternative solution for the event to take place. We really hope that the snow conditions improve and we can deliver the race later in February.”
