Thredbo celebrates unreal midseason conditions

Thredbo has officially unveiled its brand-new All-Weather Snowmaking Unit

With a natural snow depth of 80cm at Spencers Creek, more than 1.5 metres of natural snowfall this season so far, and practically round-the-clock work from its snowmaking team, Thredbo Resort is in peak condition and primed for an awesome second half of winter. With more snow in the forecast and a jam-packed line-up of events and entertainment on and off the mountain, the resort is set to deliver on its reputation as the country’s premier alpine destination.

Snowmaking Game Changer: New All-Weather Snowmaking Unit

Thredbo has officially unveiled its brand-new All-Weather Snowmaking Unit, a major upgrade that significantly enhances snow reliability on Friday Flat, the resort’s beginner area.

Unlike traditional snow guns, the new unit is capable of producing snow in temperatures of up to 20°C, helping maintain consistent coverage from opening day to closing weekend.

Australia’s Only Halfpipe Returns: MOOKi’s Mini Pipe Now Open

In a major moment for freestyle terrain in Australia, MOOKi’s Mini Pipe officially opened today – making Thredbo home to the only halfpipe in the country this winter.

Made possible by the generous donation of a pipe-cutter from Olympian and Thredbo Ambassador, Scotty James, the MOOKi’s Mini Pipe offers riders of all abilities the chance to drop in and build their pipe skills.

The arrival of MOOKi’s Halfpipe adds another exciting dimension to Thredbo’s park offering, joining the already well-loved Anton’s Terrain Park and the feature-packed Boost Mobile Terrain Park.

Looking Ahead: Events, Après & More

Thredbo’s looking forward to rolling into a huge line-up of events and entertainment both on and off the mountain. As well as a pumping entertainment calendar, Thredbo is anticipating another significant snowfall arriving in the resort at the end of this week – offering a promising outlook for what’s set to be a huge month ahead.

Thredbo is turning up the volume this winter with free live music every weekend, headlined by the return of Thredbo’s iconic Après Club – Australia’s biggest free winter live music series. From July 26 to September 13, the village will come alive every Saturday with high-energy sets from some of the country’s hottest artists, delivering the ultimate après atmosphere in the heart of the snow.

But the entertainment doesn’t stop there. This season, Thredbo is also hosting a packed schedule of internationally recognised snow sports competitions, immersive on-mountain experiences, and unforgettable alpine dining.
