Saas-Fee/Saastal starts the summer of 2025 with new features and an anniversary

The season begins with a special highlight: the 100th anniversary of the Saas-Fee/Saas Valley Tourism Organization

Just in time for the start of the summer season, the Saas-Fee/Saas Valley holiday region is presenting several new features that will ensure unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s an interactive VR experience at 3,500 meters, adventurous downhill runs and biking adventures, family-friendly leisure activities, or exciting educational activities – summer 2025 in the Saas Valley will be more diverse than ever.

The season begins with a special highlight: the 100th anniversary of the Saas-Fee/Saas Valley Tourism Organization . The celebrations will feature three symbolic events: on June 27, the focus will be on the local community, on August 1, on guests, and on September 7, the “Nostalgic Gourmet Mile” honoring the employees – including a concert by Florian Ast . A central element of the anniversary year will be the special exhibition at the Saas Museum , which documents the history of tourism in the Saas Valley and impressively traces the development of the destination.

Starting this summer, a spectacular new attraction awaits guests: the VirtuAllalin on the Mittelallalin. This virtual reality experience offers an immersive glimpse into the world of the glacier – accompanied by tourism pioneer Johann Josef Imseng. Interactive puzzles and realistic glacier landscapes make this attraction a special highlight at 3,500 meters above sea level. The new VR experience is being built on the site where the ice grotto used to be and offers a contemporary evolution of the existing offering. Access is included in the Metro Plus ticket.

The spirit of innovation doesn’t stop at the glacier, however – leisure activities are also being expanded in the valley: From July 2025, the new pump track in Saas-Grund will be a modern leisure facility for bicycles, skateboards, inline skates, and scooters. The free- to-access circuit is located in the immediate vicinity of the Hohsaas cable cars and the Erlebnisbank Arena and was designed as an attractive exercise option for adventure seekers of all ages. The official opening will take place on August 3rd as part of the SaasFeestival Family Day , accompanied by a concert by Swiss artist Adrian Almendinger on Kreuzboden.

In addition to speed and technique, knowledge, play, and nature experiences are also the focus of the new summer features: On the new themed trail “Eddie and the Mountain Weather,” children and adults learn interesting facts about high-alpine weather. Designed in collaboration with MeteoSwiss , the interactive trail imparts meteorological knowledge in a playful way: What is weather actually? Why do snowflakes look the way they do? And where does our rainwater come from? These and many other questions are explored in an entertaining way along the family-friendly route from Hannig to the village of Saas-Fee – accompanied by interactive stations that focus on the popular marmot Eddie as a charming companion.

Summer in the mountains is also a culinary experience: In addition to the well-known culinary trail in Saas-Fee, a new culinary trail in Saas-Almagell invites you to enjoy delicious discoveries starting in summer 2025. The route leads leisurely through blooming meadows, verdant forests, and along historic irrigation channels, combining the culinary diversity of Valais with the natural tranquility of the Almagell Valley. The trail is less steep and particularly suitable for leisurely hikers who want to get off the beaten track and enjoy authentic Valais specialties in a relaxed atmosphere.

Those who prefer handlebars to forks will find what they’re looking for on the Hannig: Starting July 7, 2025, a new attraction will provide exhilarating rides – the mountain carts . On the specially designed track along the winter toboggan run, guests can look forward to an action-packed ride – with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The mountain carts offer a safe yet adrenaline-pumping alternative to the classic hiking excursion, making the Hannig another hotspot for fun and exercise in the Saas Valley.

With these diverse innovations, the Saas-Fee/Saastal destination underlines its claim to be an adventure destination for active families, nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
