Snowbound Expo, Boston’s biggest ski & snowboard event doubles in size
Snowbound Expo will bring together thousands of skiers, snowboarders, and families from New England to shop over 170 brands and resorts this November.
The event provides inspiration for the coming season by hosting an incredible line up of speakers, Olympic athletes, record holders and more plus a weekend’s worth of interactive fun for families. Previously known as the Boston Ski & Snowboard Expo, the show will take place, November 3-5, 2023 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
Over 170 brands and resorts to explore
This year’s expo has doubled in size compared to the launch in November 2022. This family-friendly expo is a chance for snow sport enthusiasts of all abilities and backgrounds to meet up and kick off the season in style with stacks of inspiration and new products to purchase at the show. SkiEssentials is the Official Retailer for the expo and will offer boot fitting and a full shopping experience of ski gear and apparel. Subaru of New England returns to the expo for the first time in a few years and takes over the entrance of the show as Official Entrance Sponsor.

Live Action & New Features for families
The weekend offers a packed hall of live-action and features for families to get interactive and join in the fun. Beginners will have the chance to try out skis or a board on The Mega Indoor Slope and it’s free to get involved. The debut of the Gilson Snowbound Rail Jam will come to life Friday night where visitors will see a showcase of professional snowboarders and skiers displaying their prowess on a crafted rail setup. The new Gilson feature promises endless entertainment, incredible stunts, and unmatched feats of skill on the rails all over the weekend.
Birdie Blue is working in collaboration with Subaru of New England to host a Revive, Reuse & Recycle Zone to elevate sustainability in snow sports. This is a chance for visitors to drop off pre-loved gear which is no longer functional or fashionable and they can upcycle this into bags or gear. Any usable gear in good working order will be donated to a local charity.
Other interactive features included as part of the visitor ticket, are The Mega Indoor Slope where families can try out a board or skis, a Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Experience for visitors to try out Nordic skiing. Wachusett Mountain School are bringing their Learn to Ski deck where beginners can learn the basics of skiing. New features for 2023 include Live Community Painting with Lamont Joseph White, The TGR Pop Up Theatre where clips from the new film Legend Has It will be played. The US Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame will be displaying a section featuring stories and photos of the Class of 2023, Eliteam’s Family, Fun & Fitness obstacle course returns organized by Doug Lewis and The Share Winter Trail will invite children to collect stamps throughout the expo and find merch at the end of the trail! Apres Ski is not forgotten, as the Ikon Pass Alpine Mountain Bar offers a chance for visitors to meet friends for a drink before the season starts. Event sponsor Fat Tire will bring a Beer Garden to life offering another location to kick back and enjoy the atmosphere at the expo. This year, Harpoon & Long Trail join the expo to bring more bars for apres ski and fun! Visitors will also be able to try out balance boards with MTL boards, Skate to Ski with Rollerblade, The Tri Rugby Experience with New England’s Free Jacks and much more.

An All-Star Line-Up of Speakers
The all-star line-up of speakers and schedule has been announced. Visitor will hear stories from Olympians, adventurers, and world record holders throughout the weekend. Shaun White, professional skateboarder, and snowboarder, five time Olympian and a three-time Olympic gold medallist in half pipe snowboarding will take to the stage on Saturday to share stories from his career. He is joined by American alpine ski racer and two-time Olympic gold medallist Ted Ligety who will open Sunday at 10.45am. Lindsey Jacobellis, the most decorated cross athlete of all time and American snowboarder, five time Olympian and 10 times X Games gold medallist will speak on Sunday 12.15pm.
American cross-country skier and accomplished member of the US Nordic Ski Team, Julia Kern will inspire aspiring the Nordic skiers and will be at the show Friday 3.30pm. The line up also includes pioneer of extreme sports and world-renowned skier Dan Egan, YouTube sensation Steep Steep, LJ Henriquez, one of the top talents coming out of New Jersey’s snowboard scene and owner of SHRED Foundation, Danny Hairston. Other famous faces include Jeremy Jones, Alex Hackel, Lupe Hagaerty and more. The stage will be hosted by Olympic Ambassador, television host and broadcaster Douglas Lewis alongside Editor in Chief of Snowboard Magazine, Mary Walsh.
Included in the standard ticket, visitors will be able to attend the full program of content on The Inspiration Stage where they can listen to motivational expert speakers and grab selfies and autographs after each session.
The event has significant demand from both brands and consumers keen to return to the biggest snow sports meet up in the East.
