Altenmarkt im Pongau, 9 October 2026. Atomic has brought its Redster World Cup athletes together at its Austrian headquarters ahead of the opening alpine World Cup races in Sölden on 24 and 25 October.
At its 2026 Media Day, the ski manufacturer welcomed more than 60 international journalists for a product and brand update, interviews and the presentation of 13 athletes. The line-up included Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, Manuel Feller, Marco Schwarz, Raphael Haaser, Zrinka Ljutic, Alex Vinatzer, Tanguy Nef, Nicol Delago, Fabio Gstrein, Franziska Gritsch and Malorie Blanc.
From development to race service
Atomic said holding Media Day in Altenmarkt highlighted the close links between ski development, production, athlete feedback and race servicing. Skis have been made at the site since 1955, and nearby Zauchensee, Flachau and Schladming are established World Cup venues.
Atomic president Wolfgang Mayrhofer explained that the proximity of its race and development teams enables rapid decisions following training feedback. He also announced a fourth Ski Industry Climate Summit for January 2027.
Champions and emerging athletes
The team combines established World Cup champions with younger racers. Shiffrin and Goggia headline the roster, while Zrinka Ljutic, Malorie Blanc and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen represent a rising generation. Atomic reported 46 World Cup podium finishes, 20 victories, four Crystal Globes and seven Olympic medals across its alpine athletes in the preceding season.
Global Race Manager Alpine Christian Höflehner said the first races in Sölden will provide the season’s first real performance test following summer preparation.
The 2026–27 alpine World Cup season opens with the Sölden giant slaloms on 24–25 October 2026.
