An update on the Schluhmatte construction project so far

As planned, the first construction progress at Schluhmatte is now visible at the site.

In addition to the construction of the access road to the cableway, the area for the future temporary ticket office is also being prepared.

As can be seen in the current pictures from a bird’s eye view, the access road will run behind the support of the Matterhorn Express and thus provide direct access to the valley station of the cableway, which will be dismantled from June 20, 2022.  

The container system, which will serve as a temporary ticket office from around mid-June, will be installed on the opposite side of the road to the Matterhorn Express. For this purpose, the subsoil will be levelled and prepared accordingly. Parallel to this, preparations are already underway on the roof of the valley station so that the dismantling of the station can be started directly from mid-June.
