Snowsport England publish their ten-year strategy
Snowsport England, the Home Nations National Governing Body for Snowsport in England, has launched a new ten-year strategy, ‘Inspiring Snowsport’.
The strategy, which has secured the backing of national funding agency Sport England, celebrates the snowsport community, the passionate people within it, and gives a voice to the entire English snowsport ecosystem.
Developed by the board and staff following consultation with stakeholders, it looks to align with the Sport England strategy of “Uniting The Movement”.
“I welcome the publication of “Inspiring Snowsport” and look forward to working with Snowsport England as they seek to implement and grow around its ambitions. As a system partner of Sport England, Snowsport England receives funding to develop the systemic, governing and Talent work of the organisation. In turn this allows a greater focus on the areas of activity that matter around our strategy Uniting the Movement – not least a renewed emphasis on diversifying the sport and opening up to new audiences,” said Tim Hollingsworth, CEO Sport England.
Snowsport England have used this as an opportunity to think differently and creatively, to reset their focus on how they resource the sport, engage and support participants while nurturing talent and rebuilding for the future.
This strategic plan has been produced with a longer-term vision, identifying the key challenges and opportunities ahead, rather than the traditional four-year perspective, as they recognise that to deliver sustainable success, they need to give strategies and programmes longer to embed and take root.
“I am one of the founders of Mount Noire, an organisation that aims to increase the diversity of snowsport. It’s encouraging to see that Snowsport England have placed equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of their new strategy, Inspiring Snowsport. As a ten-year strategy, this allows long term and systemic change, and we look forward to working with them to help diversify the sport, to better reflect the communities across England,” said Dr Wenona Barnieh – Mount Noire.
This strategic plan details Snowsport England’s ambition to build on the progress made and address these challenges so they can play their part in helping to deliver the Sport England Strategy “Uniting the Movement” and make a real impact on the development of Snowsport in England.
