Opening of slopes in The Matterhorn Ski Paradise

It has snowed in Zermatt and increased the desire to get out on the slopes in the Matterhorn Ski Paradise.

For several weeks now, the Zermatt Bergbahnen have been offering excellent slopes thanks to intensive preparation work, and a trip to the Italian side of the ski area has also been possible.

Now, this coming weekend, various slopes and lifts in the Rothorn Sunnegga and Gornergrat areas will be open, as well as in Cervinia and Valtournenche.

Open from Friday, 2 December 2022:


  • Valtournenche – Salette gondola lift
  • Motta chairlift with slope no. 7
  • Bec Carré chairlift with slope no. 15
  • Du Col chairlift with slope no. 10
  • Beginner carpets Buffalo, Desert and Scuola

Open from Saturday, 3 December 2022:


  • Cretaz and Campetto chairlifts
  • Slopes 7.0 and 7.00 from Cime Bianche Laghi to Cervinia
  • Slopes 3, 3.0, 3bis and 5 from Plan Maison to Cervinia

Sunnegga – Rothorn area

  • Funicular Zermatt – Sunnegga
  • Sunnegga – Blauherd lift
  • Blauherd – Rothorn cable car
  • Hublot-Express Gant – Blauherd
  • Chairlift Sunnegga – Eja – Breitenboden

The slope map is up to date at all times and shows the open lifts and slopes. If you still need a ski pass, you can purchase it conveniently online in the shop. From the coming weekend, there is nothing to stop you from enjoying the 110 kilometres of slopes in the Matterhorn Ski Paradise.
