Austria is the best place for a party ski holiday, according to data
Coming in at first place is Sölden, Austria, with 320 bars to enjoy apres-ski. Despite being renowned for its slopes and hiking trails, it’s also the perfect place to have some beers, fondue and fun with friends.
Coming in second place is Saalbach-Hinterglemm with 288 bars, which is no surprise, as it’s famous for its apres-ski scene. It’s home to both low-key bars where you can enjoy an after-ski tipple, and bars with live music that are known for their wild scenes – expect to dance on the tables.
2 other ski destinations in Austria made the top ten list, including Lech & Zürs with 183 bars and Kitzbühel with 133, proving that Austria is the perfect country to visit if you want wild ski scenes and even wilder parties.
The average cost of a pint in Austria is only €5, too, so you can party hard without worrying that you’re going to break the bank too much.
Italy is an underdog for the apres-ski scene
Despite countries like Austria and Switzerland being known for their ski resorts, Italy actually boasts some world-renowned ones that offer stunning views and lively après-ski scenes. Val Gardena was third on the list of top 10 apres-ski destinations, with 264 bars, suggesting there is something for everyone, from delicious cheese and wine to world-class DJs. Not to mention that the average cost of a pint is only €5.
Livigno also made the list with 143 bars. Known for its long ski seasons, it’s a great place to visit for every demographic, with a plethora of family-friendly ski activities and table dancing parties.
Switzerland has great apres ski – but it will cost you
It’s no secret that Switzerland is known for having world-class ski resorts, but they can be extremely costly. According to data, Zermatt is the second most expensive ski resort in Europe, with an average daily spend of 257 Euros and an average pint cost of €7.49. That being said, it’s an amazing resort, with 206 bars and a great party scene, so it’s one to visit if you can part with the cash.
