Late Season Skiing in Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc: Sunshine, Ski Touring and a Touch of Alpine Luxury

Late season skiing in Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc combines the best of winter and spring. Longer daylight hours, quieter slopes and milder temperatures create ideal conditions for relaxed mornings on crisp snow and leisurely lunches on sunny terraces. Following the heavy snowfalls in February the snow levels will remain very stable right into the last weeks of the season and the late season conditions are perfect for those keen to try ski touring for the first time.

Discover the freedom of Ski Touring: Freedom on the Ascent

The popularity of ski touring shows no signs of diminishing, not only for being rewarded with glorious descents after a trek up the mountain, but an immersive way to experience the serenity of the mountains away from the lifts and groomed slopes

Saint-Gervais is an ideal introduction to the sport. The resort boasts six signposted ski touring routes, allowing confident skiers to explore independently. Above Le Bettex, a collection of accessible half-day itineraries is perfect for beginners and the routes provide a gentle and relaxing introduction to ski touring, complete with a sweeping panorama across the Mont Blanc.

For an extended experience, the local guiding company offers tailored outings suitable for all abilities, from first-timers learning kick turns to seasoned tourers refining their technique.

Hiring a professional mountain guide is strongly recommended for all ski touring activities.

Ski Touring with a Touch of Luxury

Ski touring can be associated with more basic accommodation or staying in dorms. But for those who appreciate a little more comfort alongside the ski touring, a stay at Refuge Chez La Tante is the answer.

The Refuge Chez La Tante is in the midst of its first winter since opening mid-December 2025. The unique cosy and stylish mountain refuge has 20 rooms, combining a traditional mountain refuge with boutique-style hotel comfort. It is located at1800m altitude and is only accessible by skis and / or the Bettex – Le Mont d’Arbois cable car. Once the lifts and the last non-guests have skied down to Saint-Gervais a stillness descends and guests can take in the sheer beauty of the landscape from the cosy lounge or terrace if the sunshine permits.

The hotel is home to the Restaurant La Tante and in the evening it is only open to the hotel guests. And quite unusual for a mountain refuge, it has a spa. It comes with a lovely indoor heated pool, sauna, hammam and treatment rooms. What better way to unwind and relax after a long day of ski touring!
