Mid-September at last, the time when it’s finally safe to admit that you’re thinking about ski-ing all the time.
As you’ll probably know by now, next year’s Test will be based in Champoluc, in the impressive Monterosa ski area. You’ll find a summary of some of the good things about our new venue below, but the main reason for this newsletter is to remind everyone to GET SIGNED UP!
Useful Champoluc Snow Test Facts
- Test Site is SW facing at 2000m: Sunny, and bigger than La Clusaz site.
- Fast 4 pax chairlift next to the Test village site with 480m vert.
- Much reduced ski test turnaround times:
- Lift time is 4min 52secs to the top of a FIS accredited (GS) red piste, and a choice of blue slopes.Â
- Next chair goes to 2700m, with wide red pistes and more off-piste options.
- Lift queues are normally minimal or absent in January.
- Excellent food etc on the mountain and at Test HQ.
- 1hr 30m from Turin / 2hrs from Milan Malpensa
- New format: the Test will run Monday to Thursday with Friday intended as a Ski Social day
- Boot room is indoors and heated (we’re taking over a groomer garage)
- Changing area inside for soft good brands.
- Brand-specific apres and socials planned throughout the week – slots are filling so if your brand or organisation wants to do something specific please get in touch ASAP.
- Socials can be on the mountain or in town.
- The Snow Test Pub Quiz will be back and an end-of-test evening dinner is planned (Italy innit.)
- Ski passes. Excellent value lift passes with solid discounts.
- Food and drink much less expensive than France
- Lifts go up to 3275m
- Excellent record for sunshine, but area normally stays cold due to altitude and proximity to so many of Europe’s biggest 4000m peaks.
- Big off-piste available and heli-skiing is also an option
The SIGB Ski Test is open to both SIGB members and non-SIGB member retail and media delegates.

Whether you’re a brand or supplier, a retailer or a media reviewer, you’ll find the relevant form, info and costs on the SIGB website here. Once you’ve registered, we’ll be in touch to organise the details. You’ll get an invoice from SIGB HQ once everything is confirmed which has to be paid before the Test in January. Site space is limited but we’ll try to accommodate everyone’s requests as best we can.
