The UK’s first mountain-based ski and snowboard festival, The Mighty Coe, is returning to Glencoe Mountain Resort on March 10-12, 2023, and there’s some big new plans.
The festival programme has expanded for 2023, with a bigger line-up of social and off-snow activity, while a huge line-up of the best snowsport brands will be on the mountain, exhibiting in the on-snow festival village all weekend. This provides UK skiers and snowboarders with a unique opportunity to see and try next year’s equipment for themselves, and in real mountain conditions.
A full list of brands attending will be confirmed soon, but will include Atomic, Black Crows, Dalbello, Dynafit, Faction, Marker, Salomon, Scarpa, Scott and Volkl among an expected 25-30 brands taking part in the Mighty Coe Snow Expo. The Festival Village is situated on the Glencoe mountain plateau, and accessed by chairlift from the base station. Lift passes that weekend will include access to The Festival Village, and brands will not be charging for people to try new kit. The Festival Village will also feature DJ sets and music all day, festival food and a bar.
Mighty Coe Lift Passes available now
Mighty Coe Lift Passes, which include access to the festival village, expo and kit test, are available now via The Mighty Coe website. The cost is £40 per day, including full Glencoe Mountain area lift pass.
Courses & Skills
An important aim of The Mighty Coe is to promote access to backcountry skiing and snowboarding, so a variety of courses and sessions will be available to book over the weekend, including Off-Piste Skiing, Ski Touring, Splitboarding and Steep Skiing Skills. The courses will be provided by Glenmore Lodge/Atomic Skis guides and instructors, and Glencoe Mountain Resort instructors. Booking details will be available in the new year via The Mighty Coe website.
New Apres programme announced soon!
The après side of snowsport is important too of course, and last year’s sell-out off-snow programme has more than doubled for 2023. The Snow Film Night in the resort’s beautiful new café will be back on Saturday evening, following Friday’s brand new Inside Edge event – a hosted evening of inspirational talks with appearances from influential snowsport insiders, brands and athletes. Friday night will be a must-go for anyone serious about sliding, equipment and mountain culture – you can expect a few nice surprises on both these nights too.
Another major addition for The Mighty Coe 2023 will be very evident outside the base station café. In the great tradition of alpine Snow Festivals, the festival will include a specially created outdoor DJ stage and snow bar, open both Friday and Saturday nights. We may not have the Alps’ weather, but the Glencoe ski and snowboard community has a reputation for being an adventurous bunch who love a party and enjoy their good times best outdoors.
