10 February marks the fifth anniversary of the initiative that invites mountain-goers everywhere to honor and recognize their local ski patrol
On 10 February 2026, Helly Hansen, the leading global ski brand trusted by professionals around the world, will celebrate the fifth annual International Ski Patrol Day (ISPD). Established to recognize the incredible work of ski patrollers globally, ISPD encourages communities worldwide to show their thanks on and off the mountain.
Ensuring the slopes are open, safe and fun for everyone, ski patrollers are the unsung heroes of the mountains. They work tirelessly to maintain and enhance the ski resort experience from dawn until dusk, throughout the season. On ISPD, all mountain-goers are invited to show their appreciation and support through social media thank you messages and in-resort activations.
Verbier Ski Patroller Théo Besse comments, “Being a ski patroller allows me to enjoy the mountains every day throughout the winter whilst contributing to the safety of others. It combines my passions for the sport, for keeping the mountains safe and working together as a team. We go to work every day, no matter the conditions, and though our job is very demanding, it’s also incredibly rewarding.”
Marcus Caston, professional skier and Helly Hansen ambassador, adds, “It’s nice to know ski patrollers are always there and have our back – whether it’s getting the mountain open, making sure it’s safe for us to go skiing, or when there’s a problem, pulling us out and getting us home safe.”
Since its inception in 2022, Helly Hansen has partnered with nearly 50 ski resorts across Europe and North America to celebrate ISPD, contributing to a variety of patrol and snow safety organizations. The financial support from the brand has been used to provide workshops, peer to peer support and educational resources across a range of topics, including avalanche safety, mental health, and injury management and response.
In support of the anniversary, Helly Hansen will once again donate 5% of all e-commerce sales and selected retail store sales from 10 February to various organizations supporting ski patrol internationally, including Fédération Internationale des Patrouilles de Ski (FIPS), Canadian Ski Patrol and more.
“At Helly Hansen, we’re proud to work with more than 55,000 professionals worldwide, who trust our gear to help them stay and feel alive in the outdoors every day,” says Joumana Løvstad, Chief Marketing Officer at Helly Hansen. “We’re excited to mark the fifth anniversary of International Ski Patrol Day, honoring the passion, dedication and expertise of patrollers around the world.”
“Thank you for making all of the magic on the mountains possible,” adds Warren Smith, professional freeride skier, world-class ski instructor and Helly Hansen ambassador. “We’re not just grateful, we’re in awe of what ski patrollers do to allow us to do what we love.”
Helly Hansen encourages everyone who enjoys the mountains to celebrate the ski patrollers in their communities on International Ski Patrol Day, using #skipatrolday and @hellyhansen across social channels, and at resorts and stores globally.
