Mountain trade professionals reconnect at successful LISTEX and SASTEX live events

Over 120 mountain industry professionals came together at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead for LISTEX and SASTEX live events on 4 & 5 May 2022. LISTEX (London International Snowsports Trade Exchange), now in its 10th year, followed its established format of Networking, Trade Exchange meetings and Forum sessions across the two days.

Extreme ski pioneer and legend Dan Egan kicked off the b2b networking event with an insightful and inspiring keynote speech about his life and how personal experience has shaped his career and ethos towards ski coaching.

James Gambrill, Ski Club of Great Britain, presented their latest consumer research into the state of the snowsports market. Positive news included “99% of British skiers intend to ski next year,’ and ‘over half of the UK market intend to take two or more snowsports holidays next season.”

InTheSnow ran the new Pitch@LISTEX, seeing WhoSki, We Mountain, Ski Quest and National Schools Snowsports Association, pitch their new business ideas to the audience.

The Trade Exchange saw snowsports and summer mountain buyers meet with suppliers and media in packed meeting rooms. Buyers including Crystal, Inghams, Ski Club Freshtracks, Iglu Ski, Sunweb, Mount Noire, Ski Weekends and Ski Yodl met with destinations and mountain services from Trentino, France Montagnes, Skiset, Jungfrau Region, Val d’Allos, Davos, Samoëns and Southern French Alpes.

Networking highlights incorporated a fantastic and energetic skiing session with Dan Egan. Après Ski Bands provided the party atmosphere with Chris Quinn singing and playing guitar during the evening’s entertainment on day one.

Day two included the ever-important sustainability and climate change focus with Iain from The Ski Podcast host and panellists One Tree at A Time, POW, France Montagnes, Mountain Heaven and Atout France engage the audience. The two-day event concluded with an excellent panel discussing ‘How do we get people skiing and people to ski more.’ The panel sought to find further ways to encourage and promote a more diverse snowsports population. Thank you to Mount Noire, Skiworld, Inghams/ Hotelplan UK, Club Europe, and Inspire Ski for taking part and James Gambrill for hosting.
