The FIS Development Cross-Country Training Camp with the Focus of the Coaches took place Online and in-person sessions in Val di Fiemme (ITA) in collaboration with the IOC and the NOC.
Overall, 17 participants from eight Nations on a gender-equal basis took part in the coaches’ basic education sessions, on May 10-14, 2023, which were organised with two online Sessions about Classic and Free techniques in order to prepare the participants for the follow-up in-person education session in Val di Fiemme (ITA). A special focus during the camp was the inclusion of cross-country para rules regulations and specifics.
All Coaches were trained and supported by FIS experts on their different goals for the camp. Furthermore, a special focus was to develop the connection between the National Ski Associations to increase the transfer of knowledge, evaluate new cross-country-national ideas and organise shared coaches’ possibilities.
“It is our priority to offer gender-equal and diverse education for all disciplines, furthermore we are very excited about joining forces with the NOCs and the IOC in order to bring more fruitful activities to the Nations,” said Stefanie Gerber, FIS Project Coordinator.
